It's really a labor of love; but, the true satisfying moment for me, is seeing your face light up & you close your eyes & say "Wow! You made this?!"
It's the best feeling ever!😊
I met a woman yesterday, who played the harp on the nursing units. It was not only beautiful to look at but, I loved her song choices too. She told me that "14 years ago, I was a patient & there was a harpist, outside my door, playing. And, I thought to myself, "I want to do that someday." Being a music instructor already, she continued her jobs, until one day, last year (I believe) she came to IMVH, seeking an opportunity to play 20 hours a week for patients. She told me how happy she was to have that goal & now she's doing what she set her mind to all those years ago.
Such a great feeling to see "personal satisfaction" on someone's face.
I said: "I want a food truck!" (Haha) She smiled & said something very kind about goals
I'm content knowing that, as a nurse, I'm doing what I need to be doing right now. And, that's enough for me!
