On Wednesday I had the pleasure of discovering, on my lunch hour, a farmer’s market that everyone knew existed for probably as long as I have worked there...across the street from the hospital....whaaaaat? I died & went to food heaven ...and then I saw the “we take Visa” sign and lost my mind. In my previous post I shared my findings....so; I had to use the ground beef & pork and purple bell peppers today. I saw a jar of chunky marinara sauce & mozzarella cheese. So, I thought, hmmm, I’ve got a plan & I think it’ll work.
This post I’ll focus on the Burger & in my next one I’ll talk about the delicious stuffed peppers.
In a mixing bowl: 1 lb ground pork & 1 lb ground beef
Seasoning: a shake shake of—-
ground pepper
garlic powder
sea salt (a double shake shake)
red pepper flakes
parsley
Mix together & form burgers (yields 7 & enough to fill 6 peppers)
Pan fry in a non-stick pan
2 tbsp of chunky marinara
And a smothering of mozzarella cheese
I felt like I needed something crunchy & salty on top & thin sliced 1 of the pickling cucumbers I found at the farmer’s market. Drizzled olive oil, a shake shake of red pepper flakes, black pepper, sea salt, onion powder, garlic powder & dill.
Spread garlic herb butter on both sides of a fresh baked bun (from the corner store bakery ;)
Pop it in the oven until crisp
Add the cheesy Burger & cucumbers & finito ❤️💚❤️💚❤️💚❤️💚❤️💚❤️💚❤️💚❤️
Try something new!
