Hmmmmm....😏 yum!
Just getting started....😂 (...pic loved, borrowed & shared from social media for your viewing pleasure😏) It's that time again....so, what are YOU giving? Scrap the cheesy (pun intended) department store seasonal gifts and create something fun for your loved ones. Besides baking scrumptious cookies, mix and match your favorite go-to spices in mason jars. Put a beautiful ribbon on it with a label and voila! They'll love it! And, it just may inspire the chef in them to fire up the grill or stove. Hint: start out with a "house" blend mix of 1 cup sea salt 1/2 cup garlic powder 1/3 cup black pepper Mix and pour into desired sized jar! Happy Wednesday! Xo j 💚 Get yourselves to your nearest Granite City!! I always say: "In my line of work, it always comes down to customer service and satisfaction." People form their opinions based on their experience. It's no different from a restaurant to a hospital, in which I've worked both. Today, I was the happy elated & satisfied customer.....and, it really meant SO much to me. Three months ago, on a whim, the girls and I dropped into the National Harbor and stumbled upon Granite City. We had a wonderful server (Sharon), who recommended the mashed potato omelette. She said: "It doesn't so und like it would work, but it DOES!" And, Sharon was right. I've raved about it ever since. This morning, Sharon was our server once again. I said: "I've told everyone about that omelette." She replied: "I'm so sorry; but, today we are only serving our brunch buffet." The buffet was enjoyable; but, I had my heart set on that omelette. Sharon checked back. All was perfect but she said: "I'm going to send the chef out." And, sure enough, he came out with a beautifully cooked mashed potato bacon & cheese stuffed omelette. I was so touched by Chef Andy's kindness. These things don't happen that often...seriously, never! I was so happy.....but, then, he said: "No, I'm the happy one. As chefs, we usually get negative feedback (meaning, someone didn't care for the cook on their steak, etc)." He continued with a giant smile how pleased he was to hear my compliment and said he would share it with the other chefs. It's the little acts of kindness that mean the most. I would have been completely satisfied just shaking the hand of this inspired chef; but, he went the extra mile and I'm forever grateful. Two things: go check out a Granite City near you; and, second, practice random acts of kindness. You just have no idea how it will impact another. Happy Sunday!!
