Blue Potato Chips!! With a dash of black pepper, sea salt & swamp venom, for a kick!
Growing up, I remember my grandma always exchanging Paneton with mom at Christmas. I never cared for the bitter fruit flavor; but, in keeping with tradition, I buy it every year. In the last couple of years, I've used it in stuffing & now, I love transforming it into French toast! All you need is: 1 paneton 6 eggs 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1 tbsp cinnamon 1 tsp vanilla extract Non stick pan & non stick cooking spray. Lay it on its side & cut off the dark top & bottom. Then cut 1 inch thick rounds and quarter them. Wisk eggs, milk etc together & soak the bread for 30 seconds on each side. Fry in a non stick pan, flip once & serve with powdered sugar & syrup!😋🍴😋 Merry Christmas!🎅🎄🎁🎉 Xo j 💚 All you need is: 3 cups arborio rice (this make a lot...scale down if need be) 1/2 cup white wine optional 2 cups water 2 large vegetable stock cartons 2 garlic cloves minced 1 large shallot thin sliced 2 cartons of crimini mushrooms rough chopped 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 tbsp black pepper & salt 1 tbsp olive oil 1/2 stick butter In a stock pot: Sautee mushrooms, shallots & garlic in olive oil & butter Add 3 cups arborio rice & start stirring for 25 minutes...you should have a rapid boil the entire time. Just continue adding the liquids (1-2 cups at a time) until the texture of the rice is aldente (about at the 25 min mark) Add cheese & turn off heat...it will continue to thicken. Pair it with a protein of your choice. Tonight, it's brown butter pan seared scallops. Garnish with a little curly parsley & a sprinkle of sea salt! Happy Friday! Xo j 💚 I go to work & come home to a kitchen full of goodies!! This is great.... One of my sweet friends & neighbor, Kate (a Michigan native) made vanilla extract!! I love these kinds of gifts. Unique and, quite frankly, nothing I would have thought to make. Merry Christmas!! Thank you Kate😃 A sweet friend made these....chewy crunchy sweet & salty!!! My kinda' cookie!! http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/white-chocolate-cherry-chunkies-recipe2.html Why not...?!? My favorite! Ham, potato, cheese scrambler nuzzled in scorched flour tortillas topped with a quick tomato, onion, garlic & jalapeño salsa/salad & topped with my impromptu cilantro, garlic, chili aioli! Fast & fresh! Happy Cooking... Xo j 💚 So, I overbought puff pastry at Thanksgiving.... Preheat oven 425F (cook 20 min) 1 box puff pastry (2 sheets) 1 cup slivered ham 3/4 cup sliced apples 2 10 oz brie blocks (trimmed & cubed) Spread the brie evenly on both pastry sheets, layer the ham & apples & make two rolls. Close edges (as best as you can ;)...didn't work so well on one of mine) & sprinkle with sea salt. When crispy, remove from oven, slice & drizzle the "Blaze" balsamic glaze over top. Serves: 8-10 Light crispy sweet & savory! Happy Cooking! Xo j 💚 All you need: 1 cup milk 3 cut up red delicious apples 4 bananas No extra sugar needed, nor ice. It's silky smooth in texture. Food process until well incorporated! Makes about 5-6 cups! Xo j 💚 |
