While taking a few much needed days off, I’ve enjoyed making breakfast. I made “avocado toast”. Ok, really? That has been a “thing” now for way too long. If people are praising this simple concept, we need to get back to the basics and start making “home-economics” a requirement and not an optional class. I digress. ——Try adding diced crispy crunchy fresh broiled peppered bacon to your guacamole for a little extra umph. It’s really good. Also, fresh pico underneath a fried egg or two. You’ve covered your fruit and vegetable servings. Healthy eating and, the concept of trying something new, should be incorporated into one’s daily—if not weekly—cooking. It makes for an open palate and teaches our kids that it IS OK TO TRY SOMETHING NEW. Just think about how unnecessarily “picky” our kids have become because we cater to it. I encourage my clan to always try it before you decide it “doesn’t taste good” or “you just don’t like it”.
Food glorious food....
Happy Friday!
