We bought the crab boil seasoning bag(s) in the seafood department at the grocery store.
Shrimp—buy frozen raw extra large shrimp for the best outcome. Thaw in a large basin with cool water, a tbsp of salt & 2 tbsp lemon juice.
Small red potatoes -cut in half if they are larger than a circle (finger and thumb width)
Yellow sweet corn -cut in thirds
1 large white onion -cut in half
6 large garlic cloves -slit open to release their essence
2 tbsp butter
1 large lemon 🍋-cut in half
In a large stock pot (and I mean large):
Fill it with 4-6 quarts of water
butter & lemon
garlic & onion
When it comes to a boil, add the potatoes 🥔 and set your kitchen timer for 15 minutes
Add the corn 🌽 & set time for 7 minutes
Then add seafood and steam until they become pink 🦐
It was fan-freakin-tastic!💛
The best advice I can give is to —wait for it—- SAVE THE BRINE & FREEZE IT FIR THD NEXT BOIL! The flavors build on each other with each subsequent boil.
